May 2014

Since returning to Spain in early May, my brushes have had no rest.

Liked this photo, so had a go.
Same photo, but I mowed the grass, cleared up the front of the small cottage, knocked down the dry stone walls, planted a tree, then put my bike against the wall and went into the house for a cup of tea.
Painted this in card size for a friend's birthday

Second attempt at these cuties, from a photo in a National Geographic magazine.

Bits and Pieces

My beloved cat Chloe
Cobweb done on elephant dung paper. Just like trying to paint on kitchen roll - impossible.
I bought the elephant dung paper in Sri Lanka, at the elephant orphanage there. All the other sheets of paper sit uselessly gathering cobwebs !!
Saw this photo on the internet and could not resist painting it

Lavender fields from a photo. I liked it so much I have it framed on the wall
I used wet paint and cling film for the background

This is one of my all time favourites.

Just doodling

"Artist" ( ha ha ) at work

Monday art group,  en el campo circa de Estepona

At "Art in the Park" near Benahavis, a few km from home in Spain, a twice yearly event when we painted, this particular day, a very old pretty coloured church.
At work on the terrace, with my back to the sea, but painting a Gibraltar view

This time facing the Mediterranean Sea which is such a beautiful distraction. There are hoopoes in the garden - the bird on the right of the picture
